Holistic Safe Water Project, Iganga District – Big Give Match Funding Pledge
Water for Kids is participating in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2020, the UK’s largest match funding campaign. The money raised will go towards the Holistic Safe Water Project, Iganga District, Uganda. This project will deliver safe, sustainable water to a community of over 1,000 people and a school of over 500 pupils, through the provision of a borehole. Alongside this, a sanitation programme will be delivered to the community, a girls washroom will be built and water tanks provided for the school as well as handwashing training and hygiene training to the school and community.
Waterborne disease is still the leading cause of child mortality in Africa. The provision of safe water, sanitation and hygiene training is the safest and simplest method of combating waterborne diseases, Covid-19 and others.
With the cancellation of PCN Dinner this year, we ask that you continue to support Water for Kids and pledge an amount to donate, which will be paid after 8th December 2020.
